About Steve Kovacs

 What makes Steve such an expert?

Steve Kovacs spent many years in law enforcement, not only as an officer himself, but also as a police training supervisor. He was SWAT trained by the FBI, FBI Hostage Rescue Team, and the LAPD.

He is the recipient of the J. Edgar Hoover Foundation award for Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity.

Steve was also a licensed School Commander in the Ohio Private Security Basic Training Program—through the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission and The Office of The Attorney General.

In addition to that experience Steve Kovacs was the General Manager for a National Investigative and Security company, servicing numerous Fortune 100 companies. He was also an adjunct (part-time) criminal justice professor for nine years.

Currently he is the Soke of Minna Jiu-Jitsu, and is trained in Judo, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, Minna Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, and Shorin Ryu Karate. A regional Judo champion at the age of twelve, he has been inducted into multiple martial art halls of fame, and is considered a martial arts expert.

Steve was also a three-time violent crime survivor. He now spends much of his time helping others protect themselves and their loved ones.

In addition, for many years Steve was the host of a popular interview talk-show podcast, called The Kovacs Perspective.
